“Win Your First Copywriting Job” Workshop
I’d like to invite you to join my “Win Your First Copywriting Job” workshop, which will kick off this Friday, September 3, 2021, at 6pm CET.
This workshop is for you if you want to get going as a paid copywriter, but you haven’t yet gotten paid to write copy, or you’ve only had tiny or crappy jobs. If you join the workshop, here’s what you get:
* Copywriting Portfolio Secrets. This is a presentation that lays out a system you can use to win 4- and 5-figure copywriting jobs, even if you are new, and even if you have little or no relevant experience or samples. This presentation will happen this Friday, September 3 2021, at 6pm CET. It will also be recorded in case you can’t watch it live.
* One-on-one guidance from me over the following week as you actually implement the steps laid out in Copywriting Portfolio Secrets. The guidance/coaching will be over email, Google Docs, Zoom, or any combination of those that makes sense. The goal is to make sure you actually do the work so you get on the path to your first paying job and to being a real, professional copywriter.
Here are some important details in case you’re interested in joining this workshop:
1. In the first part of this workshop, Copywriting Portfolio Secrets, I show you the system I used to get some of my best and most lucrative copywriting clients, even when I was far from the obvious candidate. The gist of this system is to create hyper-targeted samples that made my lack of experience a non-issue.
This is how I was able to get a job writing emails at $150/email for a marketing agency (Vyral Marketing) in my first year as a copywriter (a job that lasted for three years)…
… how I beat out dozens of other candidates when applying to a competitive position at a big name supplement company (Legion Athletics, run by Mike Matthews, the guy who wrote all those Bigger Leaner Stronger Amazon bestsellers)…
… and how I got a job writing VSLs for a real estate investing company (AwesomeREI), even though I knew nothing about real estate investing, and though I had precious little experience with VSLs. (This job has led to $30,000+ worth of work to date — for a total of less than 150 pages of actual copy.)
2. The second part of this workshop is when I help and guide you, one-on-one, to do the same thing so you can get a good, well-paid, first copywriting job, and so you know how to get jobs like this in the future. I will guide you as you decide which copywriting job to apply to… as you put together the right samples to wow the client… and as you write an application that catches the client’s attention and interest.
3. This workshop is a done-with you program, not a done-for-you program. In other words, I’m here to guide you, keep you from making dumb mistakes, and to give you constructive criticism to make your hyper-specific samples actually up to snuff for the job you’re applying for. But you have to do the work, including finding possible jobs to apply to. Speaking of which…
4. To get value out of this workshop, you have to have some way of finding copywriting job listings. Because this system is based on finding people or companies who are actively looking for copywriters, and who are really clear about what they want. That’s how you can match their wants exactly with your application and samples, and make your lack of experience a non-issue. And in case this seems like a giant hurdle:
5. If you don’t have a ready source of copywriting job listings, I can recommend one that I used for years. It has netted me hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of copywriting work.
It’s called Upwork. Yes, Upwork. Upwork has hundreds of job listings for copywriters each day. Not all of these will be right for you, but there are enough that you should be able to find a good copywriting job on Upwork, even today.
6. If you don’t want to use Upwork, or you cannot get approved for an account there, you have other options. Copywriting groups on Facebook like the Cult of Copy Job Board… private communities like Copy Chief or Copy Accelerator… other freelancing platforms like Guru… LinkedIn Groups… Craigslist.
But one way or another, you need a source of copywriting job listings for this system to work. If you’re not able or not willing to tap into such a source, whether Upwork or anything else, then don’t sign up for this workshop, because it won’t do anything for you.
7. You also need basic copywriting chops for this workshop to be worthwhile. You don’t need to be Gary Bencivenga. But you need basic writing skill to create your samples. And beyond that, there’s no sense in getting hired as a copywriter if you can’t deliver the actual work.
8. The scope of this workshop is that I show you what to do to apply… and I hold your hand as you do follow this process to a T, for one specific copywriting job listing.
In other words, I am not promising that you will get a job from the samples and application I will guide you through creating. I am also not offering to keep coaching you for as long as it takes for you to get hired.
All I am promising is that at the end of this workshop, you will have professional-grade sample or samples for your portfolio… and that you will have mastered a process that you can keep working for as many applications as it takes to get successful. These are valuable assets. If you make use of them consistently, you will win your first freelance job today, tomorrow, or very soon after.
9. If you’re not sure whether to sign up for this workshop, take your time. The offer will be open until this Friday at 6pm CET. But if you do decide to join, decide to be all in. There are no refunds.
10. The price for the “Win Your First Copywriting Job” workshop is $197. If you want a justification for that price, here are three:
* This workshop can land you a job worth thousands of dollars. As I mentioned above, the very first time I used this system, I got a gig writing two emails each month for a marketing agency, with the rate for each email being $150, for a total of $300 in that first month alone. And that job kept going for years, totaling close to $10,000.
* The price of this workshop is in part a reflection of the cost of my time and expertise. I get paid good money to write copy. If I’m going to take time away from doing that to offer one-on-one guidance to help you do the same, I want to make it worth my while.
* Perhaps most important: The price will motivate you to actually do the work and get value out of this workshop. I’ve personally paid for copywriting coaching totaling about $40,000. It was worth it, because I made much more as a result of that coaching. The biggest reason why is that I needed to justify the price to myself. And I bet that if you sign up for this workshop, you will feel the same.
Anyways, if you are not 100% sure you want to join, write me an email at john@bejakovic.com and ask any questions you have. I’d rather have you not join than join and not get value out of it.
But if you are decided that you want to join this workshop, so you actually get on the path to your first well-paid copywriting job, then click the button below. It will take you to an order form. Fill out the form and submit it, and I will then be in touch with the details of how you can join the Friday presentation, and the details of how we will do the one-on-one part afterwards.
